What Floor? [15 Jan 2008|09:59am]
[ mood | thirsty ]

You know what's a really awkward situation? Elevators. Yes, elevators. Elevators with more than just yourself in them. Think about it, you get in with like 3-5 other people, two of which know each other and then you others. You are all going from floor one to some higher floors like 8-9-10-11, etc. so it's a bit of a ride. What makes this awkward is the positioning of your eyes and body throughout this ride.

Where do you look? Well you can't look at anyone else in the elevator right? So what is everyone doing, including the 2 fucknuts who know each other and for some reason are whispering about their drunken friend from this past weekend? We are all looking away from each other, trying so damn hard to NOT make any eye contact with anyone else on the elevator, right? So we all end up looking at the floor as if all of a sudden the floor is the most interesting thing in the world. Oh the floor doesn't seem that appealing? Let's all nervously watch the floor counter to see what floor we are on now. Maybe if we all look at it together it will count faster.

Then about halfway up, the two people who know each other stop talking because they become self concious in the fact that they are the only 2 people talking and as they say no one likes the sound of their own voice, right? Oh and do we acknowledge anyone else in the elevator with us? Oh no, we're not even making eye contact remember? In our minds, we're the only ones here!

Then, where do you stand? Is it your fault that you shuffled toward the back of the elevator since you were there before anyone else got there but yet you get off before anyone else does? Are you to be made an asshole for having to shuffle through people all the way from the back of the elevator to get out? On top of which, making things worse by only going up 2 flights causing everyone to think simultaniously "what a lazy prick." A tip to all, button side is the best, it has the easiest access to slide right out.

Oh and what about that ONE guy who likes to make a "joke" and pretend like all of a sudden he knows you? That guy is the most nervous of them all because he can't even stand the mere thought of a quiet elevator ride with strangers! He has to "lighten the mood" and feel social. You know what asshole? Your joke sucked and you suck, just shut up and enjoy your ride.

And then you arrive at your floor and the doors open. NIRVANA! People can't wait to get the fuck off of that thing. You ever notice how fast people walk away from the elevator once they get off? It's like the awkward police lit an awkward fire under their awkward ass to get as far away as possible from that situation.

So after all that you realize that you eventually have to go back down on that same elevator......well, there's always the stairs right?

Banana Juice [16 Apr 2007|11:32pm]
[ mood | hopeful ]

I had a pretty damn good weekend.

My dear old friend Gabe was in town from Florida visiting so we planned on getting the old "crew" back together to hang with him. He actually wanted to hang with me on Friday and hit up a blues bar but I was so damn tired after working both places I had to crash come night. Casey and I stayed in and watched Jaws. It was actually my first time ever seeing it as hard as that is to believe.

Saturday was awesome. I just love Saturdays and having them free and clear to do whatever I want. We slept in a bit, got all rested up and just went out and did a buncha various things. Ran some errands, did some shopping, ate sushi, had some good lovin', just whatever. We just spent like the entire day together having fun, it was great.

At night I met up with the crew at Lou's and everyone was there to welcome Gabe back. It was great to see them all. On top of that Brian Rini was back too which was cool. I hadn't seen him in 4 years and now I hear he is a published author which is great. If you like poetry go check out his book, Visions of Echoes on Amazon! Anyway, we hung around for hours just laughing and having a grand time. Gabe left yesterday but he has given me and Casey an open invite anytime we want to Disneyworld since he works there. It was definitely a real fun time.

Sunday Casey and I worked all day. It was a long goddamn day but we got through it and I went to practice immediately afterwords, not even having a minute to chill. Practice went really good too, we tried a new little formula; rather than hang out there for hours, taking little breaks, our sweet ass time, etc. we just went straight for 2 hours non-stop. It f'n worked because we got so much done and got a lot covered. For the first time ever we tried backup vocals on a few songs and I got David to do it. He was a little nervous and hesitant at first but when he got the swing of it, we rocked it. Since I try and pattern a lot of my vocal style after James Hetfield we went for a kind of thing how Jason Newsted does with him and backup vocals. It's hard to describe but Metallica fans would know what I mean. It was awesome though, it added a whole new dimension to the songs and I am really happy about that. Kat and I are going to try some as well on her song next week.

I have a 2nd interview with this company that I interviewed with last week. They are a marketing company that has some pretty big name clients such as The Chicago White Sox, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. so it can be fun. I have to be there all day 9-6pm, crazy but if it's good and they offer me a good deal then it will all be worth it.

Get Back To Where You Once Belonged [02 Apr 2007|01:06pm]
[ mood | thirsty ]

I totally neglect this thing so much. It's weird because I remember at my peak I was updating this sumbitch every fucking day with all sorts of shit.

Anyway, I had a great trip to Boston/Newton, Mass. I love going there, it really is a lot of fun. The best thing about it is that when I am there I completely feel responsibility-free of everything. I mean, I guess you can say that for any vacation but I feel it moreso there because Casey's family treats me so damn good to the point where I feel like the guest of honor like every night. Great great times.

HEMI returned from our vacation yesterday. It was nice to have a little break (3 weeks). We all came back very energized and refreshed yesterday and laid out the next few months plans. We have thrown our name in the hat to OPEN FOR TYPE O NEGATIVE! at The Rave in Milwaukee. Now, I am hoping this could pan out, being very optimistic but it could happen. Otherwise we are gearing for the next recording to get the press kits ready. Pictures from the photo-shoot will be done next week and we can begin work on obtaining some endorsement deals that I opened some doors for. We are also awaiting word on an on-air performance for 88.7 FM so hopefully all goes well! New songs are coming along nicely as well.

I've been on the job hunt since graduating. Not as hardcore as I should but I'm getting more into the swing of it but I don't want to settle, I want to find something that will make me happy and that I will enjoy doing while at the same time utilizing my talents.

I've been on Facebook a lot lately. Finding all these long lost friends and family members, it's weird. On Myspace I found one of my oldest and best friends, Soji. I have no idea how we lost touch, hell he lives only 5 minutes away but shit happens I guess. We have been messaging back and forth and it's really cool because I missed him a lot, he was and is definitely one of "the brudders."

I guess thats all I got for now.

Hold Over [22 Nov 2006|02:03pm]
[ mood | sore ]

Goddamnit I feel like a prick for not updating in so long. There is so much stuff I want to put here so as not to forget it in a few months but I cannot find a moment in which to. I will though, I think I will revive very soon.

In the meantime, I now have a new favorite picture of myself which I really like. Casey took it at the October show at the Mutiny and I think she did an awesome job :)

Not the Only Teller [07 Mar 2006|12:56pm]
[ mood | artistic ]

I was listening to Penn Jillette (from Penn and Teller) and Michael Goudeau yesterday and Penn mentioned a line from the Bob Dylan song "Up to Me" that hit me really hard. I couldn't remember it completely when I got home so I e-mailed Penn and Michael and they got back to me today and I just wanted to share that unbelievable lyric.

"It frightens me, the awful truth, of how sweet life can be."

Really think about it for a minute and see how true it rings.
