I had a pretty damn good weekend.
My dear old friend Gabe was in town from Florida visiting so we planned on getting the old "crew" back together to hang with him. He actually wanted to hang with me on Friday and hit up a blues bar but I was so damn tired after working both places I had to crash come night. Casey and I stayed in and watched Jaws. It was actually my first time ever seeing it as hard as that is to believe.
Saturday was awesome. I just love Saturdays and having them free and clear to do whatever I want. We slept in a bit, got all rested up and just went out and did a buncha various things. Ran some errands, did some shopping, ate sushi, had some good lovin', just whatever. We just spent like the entire day together having fun, it was great.
At night I met up with the crew at Lou's and everyone was there to welcome Gabe back. It was great to see them all. On top of that Brian Rini was back too which was cool. I hadn't seen him in 4 years and now I hear he is a published author which is great. If you like poetry go check out his book, Visions of Echoes on Amazon! Anyway, we hung around for hours just laughing and having a grand time. Gabe left yesterday but he has given me and Casey an open invite anytime we want to Disneyworld since he works there. It was definitely a real fun time.
Sunday Casey and I worked all day. It was a long goddamn day but we got through it and I went to practice immediately afterwords, not even having a minute to chill. Practice went really good too, we tried a new little formula; rather than hang out there for hours, taking little breaks, our sweet ass time, etc. we just went straight for 2 hours non-stop. It f'n worked because we got so much done and got a lot covered. For the first time ever we tried backup vocals on a few songs and I got David to do it. He was a little nervous and hesitant at first but when he got the swing of it, we rocked it. Since I try and pattern a lot of my vocal style after James Hetfield we went for a kind of thing how Jason Newsted does with him and backup vocals. It's hard to describe but Metallica fans would know what I mean. It was awesome though, it added a whole new dimension to the songs and I am really happy about that. Kat and I are going to try some as well on her song next week.
I have a 2nd interview with this company that I interviewed with last week. They are a marketing company that has some pretty big name clients such as The Chicago White Sox, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. so it can be fun. I have to be there all day 9-6pm, crazy but if it's good and they offer me a good deal then it will all be worth it.
